Stephen Ministry Stephen Ministry is a proven system of that our church began using in 2008 to train people in our congregation to provide quality Christian care to those experiencing life difficulties. We are all called to “bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 Stephen Ministry is a great way to better equip us to do what it is that God calls each of us to do on a daily basis. As a congregation we know that no one is immune to crisis or difficulty in life. And while challenges, transitions and losses are a “given” for each of us…..handling those alone is not! The PBS “Religion and Ethics” news show did an eight-minute feature on Stephen Ministry that vividly describes the life-changing ministry that can happen when trained one-on-one caregivers faithfully listen, empathize, encourage and pray for those who are facing a crisis, an illness, loss, loneliness or other life events.
